Mitch McConnell - a Knight riding in on horseback
I want to mention Senator Mitch McConnell and his new status as Minority Leader in the Senate but first.... Do not be taken in by the ploy of "working together in the spirit of bi-partisanship." Our new leaders may misread the tea leaves and we will all be the worse for it. Our new leaders have demonstrated little comprehension of the threat we face. I watched Pelosi speaking with President Bush last night and all I can say is don't be talking to me about who is more inarticulate. I trust many conservatives voted for "change" with well-meaning intent; however, we have put men and women in power who are swimming in the psychiatric term, adolescent egocentricity. Well-meaning or not, actions have consequences. We have handed the key to the liquour cabinet over to the kids. Let's see if they can abstain. People in the Middle East danced in the streets at word that the Democrats "won". A clear victory for the Islamists. I see the President heading for Asia under the illusion that "free" trade is good for America when our industrial infrastructure is nearly extinct. So the President is doing the honorable thing and letting the Leftists bask in their "win." Our cowboy has outsmarted the Left more than once and he may again but perhaps taking a trip is the more gracious thing for a politician to do. I have supported our efforts in Iraq but only to win, not draw, and certainly not bring our men and women home in defeat. We'll see but this election does not bode well in that area. The amnesty bill is now a sure thing, maybe? Let's see how much of a dust-up the Senate Republicans can create. Will they play the 60 vote supermajority card? I sure hope so. That would be fun and worth watching and as Southerners, some of them can play it with charm, not animosity. If the President gets his 12-20 million new "documented" workers, aka - citizens, he increases the voting bloc for his nephew's run for the presidency in about 10 years; and there is plenty of time to fund and build the superhighway from Mexico through the US into Canada so that terrorists and Islamists, and gangs such as MS-13 will find it even easier to invade our nation. Oh, you think the Leftists will fund the fence at the border? Better to send money to the Minutemen. Michigan voted against "affirmative action" but we know that state referendums mean nothing with the "black-robed" thugs on the bench set to take away any actions toward equality voiced by the people. Many of the folks on the bench support institutionalized racism in direct opposition of the Constitution. We see in California that the right of eminent domain has been voted on and the people have spoken that in California, at least, the ideal of the right to own property without fear of state theft of that property has been crushed. Leave California if you can and if you can't, seriously consider not buying real estate property. It won't be yours; it will belong to the state, you'll just get to pay the taxes, etc, until the state wants to take it over. California, once a land of aspiration and ideals has fallen into the camp of Socialism in all but name. Western Europeans seeking to flee to America for freedom and hope, and to flee from the Islamification of your nations, think again. It is imperative that you remain in your nations and fight for freedom and against the Islamic incursion. Enough said. Stay safe, Americans. Those Americans in name only (AINOs - pronounced AI-nos) are working to undermine us; the Democrats may help, wittingly or unwittingly - they can't help themselves. I hope they can but I fear human nature will out and they will just not be able to curb their "hatred" for Bush and conservatives. They beat the anti-American drum too hard and too long; plus they own much to the Kos and kids. Their extremist groups will want blood, yours, mine, anyone's. Be alert, we may be on our own. Or are we? Will conservative leadership wiggle its way out once the election dust has settled and the Leftists start to "show their colors"? Will conservatives know that conservative values won, that the people were fed up with the growth of government, with the profligrate spending, with the expansion of federal agencies? I'll support the conservative leadership when they come forward. But right now I ticked off at the squandered chances, lost hope, and general arrogance of many in Congress and the Senate of both political parties. Some say it was good the Republicans lost control of Congress and the Senate. I can't go that far. I have no doubt that the Republicans left standing and those packing up their offices got the message. I am looking for strong Minority Leadership through Senator Mitch McConnell along with the like-minded folks such as Jeff Sessions. McConnell has the strength, courage, and spitfire talent to bring Republican Senators who have stayed back to the fold. If he can't do it, the electorate will in 2008.

And who was the dog and who was the pony? Should be interesting times ahead. Let's keep the "conservative" Dems (who just won) feet to the fire. We can show them the door in 2008, don't cha know?
