Thelma Drake - Congresswoman for the people
As you watch the DOW go below 10,000 today and you watch your savings and 401Ks tank, please keep in mind that Congresswoman Thelma Drake, Representative for Virginia's 2nd Congressional District, voted AGAINST that heinous HR 1424: Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008. She voted against it twice: once when it was HR 3997 and only 110 pages and the second time when it had become HR 1424 with 442 pages. Here's the final House vote: HR 1424, Senate Usurption of House authority to develop spending bills Thelma voted FOR we, the people. Congresswoman Drake's Congressional website is Congressman Thelma Drake. Her re-election website is Thelma Drake for Congress where you can find out how to contact her campaign office and the address for making contributions. Thelma is approachable and her constituents have access to her and to her staff. You may not agree with her on all of her votes but more often than not, she will stand with us. And for a look at Europe: Germany takes hot seat as Europe falls into the abyss

actually after years of rubber stamping the Bush agenda what you should say is that:
"after being part of the machine that created the problems Thelma Drake refused to do what was necessary to rescue 401 k and pension plans and helping people keep their jobs."
It's time for Thelma to go, go, go.
Say what you will but Thelma did not create the problems and Bush folks, at least early-on, tried to address them. Problems started in 1977 with Carter and were increased by Bill Clinton in 1997 - see Community Reinvestment Act of 1977 at wikipedia.
Mouseherder - that must be like herding cats. Many Republicans lost their seats in 2006 because they rubber-stamped so much of Bush's policies but he is not running for re-election.
I have stood against a number of his policies over these last 8 years and have even written that I was sorry I had voted for him twice. I am against the North American Union, against the invasion by illegals but they will soon be granted citizenship, against the prescription bill, and most definitely against the Campaign Finance Reform Act as unconstitutional.
But this current government-bred and fed-crisis cannot be put at Thelma's feet.
Bush was the de facto "head" of the Republican Party and, from my point of view, he and his administration did a very poor job of leading. They certainly did a terrible job of communicating with the American people. So, you and I are in agreement there. But we do not need a Democrat as our representative for the 2nd District.
Thank you for your comment. I visited your blog and plan to do so again.
