Lisbon Treaty: Insult and kick in the gut
The heat is on for votes in Ireland both for and against the Treaty of Lisbon: Lisbon logjam exposes hallowness of democracy *** give this one a look Europe deserves much better than the Lisbon Treaty EC faces legal challenge from anti-Lisbon campaigner European Commission facing legal challenge from Green MEP The vote is June 12th. The issues are complex but the Treaty of Lisbon is no readable document at all. One must cut/paste/and collate all by yourself to try to make heads or tails of the document. Reviewing it is like reviewing a document, 85% of which has been redacted only this time the words just aren't there so you can't even tell when sentences would have started or ended, much less identify what was in the middle. The Treaty of Lisbon is the EU Constitution in disquise; it is unreadable; and frankly, asking any citizenry to vote on such horse-twaddle is insulting. Ah, but then the leaders really don't think very highly of the peasants, now do they?

Beach Girl,
Why don't you read one of the consolidated versions? Or one of many guides that explain what changes and what stays the same?
Oops. You can still read Free Europe Constitution and vote at www.FreeEurope.info
I agree! A vote without being educated on what you are voting for is a complete trap. This is a great post, and I really like your site.
What a world, eh?

It is a great world. What is difficult is to keep in mind that "life stops for no man" and all things made by man pass and return - like the ebb and flow of the tide.
The interesting thing is that we can't always be here for the results.
