Debra Saunders nails it - CAIR's MO clear in non-flying imam case

In her recent editorial, Not the flying imams, Debra Saunders lays out the entire MO - create an incident then claim that you are the victim. The play book is tattered and worn, gents. Keep pushing the envelope to see just how far America can be intimidated. You see, the more you use the extortion ploys - create the incident, cry "victim", and then sue or threaten to sue, the more clear your efforts become and the more credibility you burn. Debra Saunders has it right on; good for her. Those imams are no more victims than I am. Nor are the passengers who cautioned the flight crew to take a second look culprits. Imams' MO is clear and, if there are really "moderate" Muslims who are patriotic Americans, their cause is harmed by the "create the incident then sue the passengers" ploy. And the ploy is rather un-American because it was designed to push the envelope and frighten the passengers in light of the 9/11 slaughter of thousands of innocent Americans. What does a concerned passenger do? Tell the flight crew the men are acting strangely and risk being caned by the PC police or keep silent and in-flight learn much too late that his instincts were right and he won't be going home to dinner? The passengers on that flight were the true victims of intimidation and, from what I've read, the imams played on the passengers' worst fears. So, who is the victim? And who victimized the passengers? Recently, I wrote of a movie set in London, Dirty Bomb, by Daniel Percival. At the end, one of the British interrogators says,
"When you bomb us and kill innocent men, women, and children, we will retaliate killing more Muslims." The terrorists looks at her coldly and says, "We expect your retaliation. That is what brings us together and divides you."
So, the Islamists justify their pathology and our retaliation justifies their initiating action. We are really dealing with psychopathic behavior here. How long before we understand that? I will not go so far as to equate the imams behavior with that of the terrorists in the movie but one cannot blame the passengers' reaction to their initiating actions and then call themselves "victims". At least one cannot do that for long an maintain much credibility. It is analogous to a man pushing a black-belt into a fight then crying "victim" when the black-belt defends himself after having told the man that his (the black-belts) hands are lethal weapons. Plain and simple, passengers and crew have to be able to defend themselves from intimidation and victimization no matter the ethnicity of the folks creating the "fear".

The Middle East must think we are a bunch of children. We beg mercy for 15 soldiers, and they would execute a thousand of their soldiers if it pleased Allah.

We must conquer ourselves before we'll ever have a chance to confront them. Your post points us in the right direction...

Thank you, Evrvigint - I see you are a new reader or commenter. Glad to have you with us.

Take a minute or two and go over to Gates of Vienna and see recent posts. One deals with European Civil War and Patience.... Especially read the comments as they address the general IQ of our enemy. Interesting reading. But if we, generally, are so much smarter, I wonder that we are allowing the "gathering storm clouds" to amass.

Beach Burst 4/10/07 has the links at the bottom. Beach Burst 4/10/07.

I think you'll like what we fondly call the "Gates". It is not for light-weights in the reading department and often the comments are as worthwhile as the posts themselves.
