It's a hard rain that's gonna fall

For some reason, I haven't been able to get that line from Bob Dylan's song out of my head. Maybe you remember the lyrics: "and it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard rain, that's a gonna fall." When we see the forces converging upon us and our Western culture, we have to stop and think, what the hell's going on? We all know we have enemies within and without. It is mind-boggling just howmany wolves are at the door. We can't each fight them all but we can take on one and gnaw at him 'til he screams, "Uncle!" and tucks tail and ski-daddles. We can't have a young lady give her thanks to God and Jesus for giving her the inspiration to fulfill her goals to graduate at the top of her class. The reason her speech is prohibited is because some loony-toon on the left (read ACLU) says that she is somehow speaking in support of government-sanctioned religion. Please. She has as much right to say she believes in God, the Creator, and His Son, Jesus Christ as the atheist has the right to say there is no God or any thing resembling God and that includes Allah. I see the forces converging: the liberal, leftist media ramming their drivel down everyone's throats, casting "news" as it suits their agenda; the Islamic Jihadists and their puppet masters the Mullahs from Mecca huffing and puffing, emboldened by what they see as weakness on the right. And what is a poor, little Beach Girl to do? Wait for the hard rain? Quiver and quake behind my lace curtains? Sip tea and say, "Henny Penny, the sky isn't falling; it isn't falling.... Is it?" We have to put our collective feet down and say, "Not on my watch!" We have to write on behalf of the Pendleton 8, we have to write in defense of our freedoms. In a political season, we have leverage - at least until the votes are counted. Get out and support your candidates for public office. Go to the polls and vote. It may seem like one tiny, unimportant thing to do and you say, "Oh, Beach Girl, my vote won't count." Well, not so my faithful friend. Early on in our nation's history, one vote made the difference between us speaking German or English as our national language. I know, we're fighting that battle again but that too shall pass.

Dylan's earlier stuff is the material of legends. What's the line, stuck a cigarette on a parking meter, meter's so hot it lit match. Called up the lady of time, just to have somebody to talk to....

Keep trying Vicktorya.
