Iraq Study Group - Winner of Best Naming Award

Many writers have panned the Iraq Study Group Report for being what it is - worthless. However, I would recommend reading Poisoned Fruits by Frank Gaffney, Jr. to see the sour grapes that may be behind the report. The best line I've read, and I've read many, regarding the report is the first sentence in Overlooked Options by Bruce Fein. In his column, Fein says, "The Iraq Study Group Report issued last week after nine months of labor is not worth the price of admission." Usually at the end of nine months - we can greet a tiny newborn with our hearts full of love, joy, and hope for the future. As your know, abortion is not high on my list of things one should have but in this case, the Iraq Study Group should have been aborted-on-demand. Where is Babs Boxer when we need her? But when all is said and done, the report may be nothing more than the pique of an old warrior who worked for President Bush's daddy and didn't like being "put out to pasture." As a tax payer, I want a refund.

So "The Plan" is meaningless?
Could not this be the end
of the farce that has been
Middle-East diplomacy?
Is it just a "Post Headline"
(Surrender Monkeys)? Don't
only the Liberals take the
ISG seriously?

Beach Girl ~

Here's two pieces of good news associated with the IRSGR.

1) It is a plain manifesto of the prevailing wisdom in Washington. Now everybody interested in the matter can sample for themselves the pathetic lack of direction and moral clarity that an entire cross-section of bureaucrats embrace, enthusiastically endorsed by our idiotic media.

2) As far as Geo. W. Bush has made rather clear, it's not going to be implemented. This, in turn, gives us cause of mild elation on at least two fronts: a) we get to say "up yours" to the cheerleaders of defeat and b) it looks like some offensive actions are in the stars--viz. a long-overdue mobilization against Gillette's nemesis, Muqtada Al Sadr.

So, as the good old Latins (the real ones) said, Sursum Corda--cheer up your hearts. Even in this desert of idiocy and inaction, there is the occasional oasis.

Voltaire - good points - posting on this right now. Unrelated question - in order to comment here, do you have to have a Google account?

Beach Girl ~ Yes, I am asked to provide my Blogger or Google account. Sometimes I am able to log in directly from here after I have logged in at Gates of Vienna or at my own blog, which has a slightly different template. It's still kind of confusing to me...

Me too. Check out my latest post. Not sterling with a migraine but fun to do anyway. It is Iraq - tossed out like a carved-up Christmas turkey?
