Darfur meets the usual UN suspects

I have refrained from writing about Darfur for several reasons. One reason was that I believed the reality of what I would find regarding the UN member-states involvement against trying to stop the genocide militarily would confirm my suspicion that the UN is increasing an Islamic-controlled organization with collusion from willing European nations, themselves not yet Islamic-controlled but the nations nonetheless joining their international policies with those of the Islamic-controlled nations. [That is a rough sentence, so please excuse.] Another reason that I have refrained is that I see this as a civil war the aim of which is to rid Sudan of Christians (5%) and animists/indigenous beliefs (25%). That the international community of the usual UN suspects is supporting the dominate Islamic-oriented government goes a long way to explaining why nothing will be done to end the genocide. And the government has the guns. We don't have to like it; actually we can and do deplore it but do not look for it to end. It is much like the "religious" cleansing that has been going on in Indonesia especially in the late 1990s and now the early 2000s, as the Muslims convert or slaughter the Christians throughout the Indonesian islands to claim the region for Islam. Further research on my part is needed on the larger claim and that will be forthcoming in later posts. But if one just looks at Sudan and Indonesia as examples, it is not a great leap of the imagination to accept that these are two more pieces in the push by Islam's leaders for world domination through conversion or the sword. These comments are based on reading, on research, on observed behavior, and on the results of that behavior. At the moment, among other books, I am reading Bat Ye'or's , Islam and Dhimmitude, Where Civilizations Collide, published in 2002. Somes books I like to read backwards starting with the last chapter and working my way toward the beginning of the book. Such is the case with Islam and Dhimmitude, which brings me to the subject of Sudan and the genocide taking place in Darfur. First, it saddens me to say that nothing will stop the genocide because the Islamists and their European appeasers; er, I mean, collaborators; er, I mean "abstainers" are in cahoots with their Islamist masters, and therein lies the term, "the usual UN suspects." Another book to read is Eurabia by Bat Ye'or to understand why the European "leaders" are inviting the invasion of their nations and the eventual complete islamification of Europe - it is all about power, money, and oil. It is also about the dhimmification of the native citizenry. A word on Sudan with the facts taken from The World Factbook - Sudan. According to the CIA, Sudan is a military controlled government which is Islamic-oriented. Sudan gained its independence from Egypt and Britain on January 1, 1956 and from the 1980s onward there has been one conflict after another within the country. The population is comprised of 41.2 million people ethnically broken down as 52% black, 39% Arab, and a smattering of others. Religiously, the nation is 70% Sunni Muslim primarily in the north, 5% Christian, and then the remaining 25% being animists and other. There is 18% un-employment. I found it interesting that there are about 2.8 million internet users. The conflict in Darfur broke out in 2003 with 200,000 deaths and 2 million people displaced. But as a result of the ongoing conflicts/wars within the nation since the 1980s, somewhere between 5.3 to 6.2 million people have been displaced. Genocide has been ongoing since 2003/2005. The UN has been especially worthless with regard to ending the genocide in Darfur for several reasons but for this post, I'll focus on the exclusion of the Christian Solidarity International (CSI - an NGO) as a consultative group at the United Nations. The following comes from Islam and Dhimmitue, pages 356 - 358. The material has been paraphrased unless otherwise noted. First, the CSI had reported on the deplorable conditions in Sudan relating to the enslaving of black African women and children. Sudan filed a complaint with the UN and on October 26, 1999, at a special meeting of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC),
"twenty-four out of its fifty-four member states voted in favor of the exclusion of CSI from the UN, fourteen voted against" removing CSI from the UN, "while fifteen abstained, and one member was absent...By deliberately choosing to "abstain" - alongside ten countries from Central Africa and South America, and two others - France (5-10%M), Italy (%M not given), and Spain (%M not given) caused a dramatic split within the European Union and in the Western democratic camp on a major issue: slavery in Sudan." According to John Eibner - the pioneer of CSI's antislavery program - Europe's readiness to appease the Arab world on the issue of Sudanese slavery was crucial to the success of the Government of Sudan's efforts to strip CSI of its consultative status at the UN. This anti-dhimmi political convergence on the part of European and Muslim governments inevitably eroded the survival of Christianity in Muslim countries....(page 357)
I will leave it to you to read the rest from Islam and Dhimmitude but from my reading, the interests of the appeasers of the perpetrators of the murders and enslavement of black Christians in Sudan far out-weigh the appeasers' interests in having the truth of Darfur told. Of the 54 member nations that voted to keep the CSI in its consultative status to the UN, the list is worth noting here: Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Lesotho, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, United Kingdom, and the United States. These nations and these nations alone voted to keep CSI in its position of informing of the genocide taking place in Darfur. The following nations were among the 24 who voted in effect to "see no evil, hear no evil" about the genocide occurring in Sudan: Algeria (99%M); China (1-2%M); Cuba (0%); Ethiopia (45-50%M); India (13.4%M); Lebanon (60%M); Pakistan (97%M); Russia(10-15%M); Senegal (94%M); Sudan (70%M); Tunisia (98%M); Turkey (99.8%M); Indonesia (88%M); Morocco (98.7%M); Oman (90%M); Saudi Arabia (100%M); Syria (90%M); and Japan. [The (%M) = the percentage of the nation's population that is Muslim.] The vote to remove the consultative status of CSI from the UN was in effect a tacit approval of the genocide, the slavery, and the wiping out of Christianity in Sudan. You who live in the EU and in South America will have to ask your nation's leaders why they voted to remove the CSI from telling the truth of what is occurring in Sudan. And from the book, "The Holy See was conspicuous by its silence alongside the World Council of Churches, and other NGOs." We know why France and Russia did not support the Iraq War; we know it was due to their financial deals with Saddam. What "deals" or other considerations are influencing their votes or their "abstaining" with regard to the tragic conditions in Darfur? And of the nations that "abstained", which are on the brink of becoming islamic in character and how high will the price of dhimmitude be upon the native citizens of those nations?

It's not Islamic leaning - it has two distinct populations and one is trying to wipe out the other.

By the way, Beach girl, news on Wren just suddenly stopped dead. Did everyone lose interest?

James, it is a little more than that in that the international community by way of the UN is supporting the Muslim population which is over 70% of Sudan - plus they seem to be the ones with the "guns" as the government appears to be Islamic-oriented.

Don't know what happened with the Wren Cross. I left e-mail that I had posted 5 entries on subject, written to the president gene nichol, and would help further if they'd let me know what they needed. Have not heard...
