S.1639 and her ugly step-sisters: illegal alien and "OTM" perks

High on our euphoria of the vote AGAINST ending debate on S. 1639, Unaccompanied Alien Child Protection Act of 2007, a.k.a. "immigration" bill, we need to be alert to the "ugly step-sisters" lurking in committee ready to jump to the front battle lines in our desire for good legislation. S.2075, DREAM Act of 2005, sponsored by Senator Richard "Dick the Turban" Durbin. This bill was referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee on 11/18/2005. [Note: when searching for bills, be advised that each Congress/Senate, 110, 109, 107, et al can use the same number but the bills may well be different.] Essentially, this bill provides access for children of illegals to our colleges and universities at "in-state" tuition. Essentially, the battle against illegal aliens being granted all sorts of benefits and perks ahead of American workers is hardly over and lurks within bills that were, unlike S.1639, referred to the Senate Judiciary for hearings and review.
