Gen. Petraeus on ruling a nation

It is past time for the US Gov. (the Administration, the House, the Senate) to stop the invasion of illegal aliens. And our leaders are damned by their own words and, in this case clear honesty. Yesterday, Palm Sunday, Debra J. Saunders had an excellent commentary piece in the Washington Times, Political Counterinsurgency. She was speaking to the issue of Iraq. She starts off with:

As House Speaker Nancy Pelosi supports measures to set a timetable to withdraw U.S. troops in Iraq, she likes to repeat this quote by Iraq commander Gen. David Petraeus: "There is no military solution to a problem like that in Iraq." Mrs. Pelosi ignores the rest -- indeed, the thrust -- of Gen. Petraeus' message.....

And I will too because my issue is illegal aliens invading our nation. Gen. Petraeus made a truthful and telling comment which for me puts the icing on the cake and the sword into the heart of the United States of America. Our elected leaders and our career gov. bureaucrats - both sworn to protect us - simply don't see us as being invaded and, if they do, don't give a damn. Here is the General's comment as quoted in Saunders' commentary:

Or, as the December 2006 military counterinsurgency manual, which Gen. Petraeus co-wrote, so deftly put it, "In the eyes of some, a government that cannot protect its people forfeits the right to rule."

Hmmm.... Well, out of the mouths of generals comes the truth. On the matter of the respect our politicians deserve - all of them at the federal level - regarding illegal immigration, I rest my case. In the words of General Petraeus, as applied to Iraq, they have forfeited their "right to rule." In November 2008, we need to kick out every elected politician who voted for this "amnesty" and who supports open-borders, the North American Union crowd. And by the way, we see marches in the streets of illegal aliens demanding all manner of things from us. Where are the legally held marches in the street demanding that our government protect us from illegal alien crime, illegal alien drunk drivers killing us on the roads, and more? Where are those marches? Where are those peaceful "rights of assembly?"
