To America's fighting forces: A Palm Sunday Message of Honor and Love
The following is to America's fighting forces: A Palm Sunday Message of Honor and Love. This message is to you - regardless of your denomination or religious creed - our men and women serving in uniform. Dear Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, our Delta Forces, our Navy Seals, the 101st Air Borne, et al: As I sat in church today listening to the voices of the choir swell and fill the church, the visions on my mine's eye were of you on your patrols, the sounds of your chopper blades slicing the air, the sounds of your guns firing. I could nearly feel the touch of your breath on my cheek as you took cover or moved forward in an assault. Through this, as the choir sang and you crossed my mine's eye, I was reminded that I have this freedom, this Sunday, because of you. It is written that there is no greater love that a man can show than to lay down his life for his friend. To you, our men and women who fight for us, who suffer grievous wounds for us, and who lay down your lives on foreign soil for us and for your fellows-at-arms - not for a government, not for an agency - but for us, your fellow Americans too young or to weak to stand by your side, for the ideal that is America, for a gleam in a young child's eye on a Christmas morning, for a tear on a parent's cheek as Old Glory, our folded flag, is placed into wearie, loving arms, thank you for your courage and for your love. God Bless you! With love and honor, Your "Beach Girl" Ever vigilant! Ever free!
