HR 2265 and S. 1651 = US Defeat in Iraq
Alert: H.R. 2265 and S. 1651 are the latest Democrat effort to bring our men and women home in defeat. The ploy - granting asylum to Iraqi refugees. That's right. It isn't as though we don't have enough "illegal" aliens of all stripes that are clogging our prisons, killing us, etc; now the Democrats want to flood the nation with Iraqi refugees. In a must-read analysis, D.K. Shideler of the Center for Vigilant Freedom has provided a look into HR 2265: to provide special immigrant status for certain Iraqis, to assist Iraqi refugees, and for other purposes. "For other purposes" - that's the part I always like in a job description. Both HR 2265 and S 1651 (sponsored by Teddy "I'm glad I know how to swim" Kennedy) are designed to destroy and undercut the laws that protect us from terrorists entering the United States. We are fighting in Iraq to "fight the terrorists" there, not here. Enactment of this legislation will open the floodgates to Iraqi refugees, signaling that we "surrender" to al-Qaeda. And this legislation puts us at further risk by weakening our asylum laws, placing us in the jeopardy that England now finds herself in. Contact your Representative and your Senators to STOP this legislation. [See sidebar for contact information] Thank you! America simply cannot import Iraqi refugees! Iraqis must stay and fight for the chance of freedom that our military men and women are fighting to give them. HR 2265 and S.1651 are the "white flag of surrender" to al-Qaeda. Make no mistake. Democrats are hungering to "create" another Vietnam. Stop them from bringing our fine military home in defeat. Do you want our military coming home in defeat as the Israelis did recently from Lebanon - with their heads bowed. Hell, no! Let's give General Petraeus and our men and women a chance to get the job done. And for our part, let's stop this legislation.

I thought crime was bad with just the millions of illegals... can't wait till we see random acts of terrorism breaking out in neighborhoods everywhere. Glad I just purchased a freedom defending implement. ;-)
Yes, ;)... Did you see the stats in an earlier post with links to Atlas Shrugs?
I just learned that the Senate bill has been referred to the Judiciary Committee, I think or maybe it was the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration...
I need to check. I thank God when August rolls around and some of these yahoos go on "vacation" so they aren't making MORE laws to ties us up in.
It could all make a lady swear. Did you go to the link for Vigilant Freedom? You might be interested in that site. They keep up with CAIR and the slick boys for Saudi...
When the time comes there may be many of us joining you in "them thar hills" 'cause we'll have to make a stand someplace.
Off topic, but on the Ruby Ridge incident - how dare our government do that and then give the shooters promotions...
I just don't know sometimes. I just have to have faith in the American people. I heard that the young Marines were asked every year or so if they would fire upon American citizens. I heard they said, "NO"... If they ever said yes, then what would we be fighting for anyway? Without them defending us.
Lord, I love the Marines.
Beach Girl, reading your blog, it appears that you think Iraqis necessarily equate to terrorists. This is simply not the case. There are 2.2 million Iraqis who have fled Iraq and another 2 million who are internally displaced. If these people were terrorists, why aren't they staying and fighting?
Read H.R. 2265 and S. 1651. You'll see that our highest priority is to resettle Iraqis who worked for us. We would resettle Iraqis who interpreted for our men and women in uniform, who worked for us in the Green Zone, who collaborated with American and coalition forces to bring peace and Democracy to their country.
Many of these Iraqis are now targeted by militias for working with the U.S. Their lives are in danger because they believed in our mission. We can not turn our backs on what few allies we have left in the Middle East. Enacting H.R. 2265 and S. 1651 would bring our Iraqi allies to a safe place.
Our Iraqi allies are well-educated and would make positive contributions to our society. They are fluent in other languages and are highly skilled. They are doctors, lawyers, aid workers and more.
These Iraqis are not terrorists. They are our friends and allies. They put their lives on the line right next to our troops in the field and employees in the Green Zone. These bills are an opportunity to do some good in the world and to show people in the Middle East that they can still believe in America.
