ReplyDeleteNo, dems do not care - only about power. Only about power. As a woman, this will sound "strange" but Hill getting any of the female vote after her history and the abuse she's enjoyed, makes me think we never should have been allowed to vote.
ReplyDeleteThe Founders had it right. A person should at least be able to demonstrate he/she has property and supports himself/herself through honest work at least sometime during his/her lifetime. No one who lives on welfare should be able to vote - period. They have a vested interest in voting for the person who will give them the money of tax payers. In other words, they can be bought with tax-payer supported programs. Xnay on that...
Beach Girl, it is very interesting that you should say this. There are a surprising number of very intelligent women saying much the same thing; that women's suffrage was a mistake. You have it quite right that voting should be "means tested," that is, it should be limited to those who can demonstrate that they are fully self supporting, both for themselves and all their dependents. It will never happen in my lifetime, but I suppose we can dream of having the country return to a much more rational basis for voting. The Democracy Reform web site has some interesting ideas about this.

ReplyDeleteI do not post all comments that are left at my blog, especially those that threaten people but Obama was reared as a Muslim, born a Muslim, and Muslims have written here what they will do to him because he is considered an apostate regardless if he was just a little boy or not when he practiced Islam, a cradle to grave ideology not isolated to "religion".
