Our representative republic based on our U.S. Constitution has many wolves slashing at our heels and hearts. Enemies within and enemies without; we must take them at their word, even as they dissemble at every turn to advance their cause to destroy our way of life and end our freedoms.

Canadians and Europeans heading to the beaches of Virginia
To my Canadian neighbors to the north and my friends in Europe heading this way, if you are planning to head south to the beaches of Virginia and you are now learning that Virginia Beach may be way over-rated in terms of its seeming slide into a defacto sanctuary city for illegal aliens from Mexico who, "culturally" are wont to drive drunk(Hispanic DWIs rooted in immigrants' culture: Lifestyle, isolation figure in drunk driving - note you may have to click in the top right corner to get to the screen with the article), I have another suggestion. Go to Virginia Beach if you must. I do, but not often.
As you travel down Interstate 64 (I-64) toward Virginia Beach, take a right off the interstate onto North Hampton Blvd. That is Route 13 which will take you to the Eastern Shore. Signs will indicate - Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel "thata way." Now, it is true Route 13 can be a tad dangerous if you are in a hurry, drive in the left hand lane causing the 18 wheelers to have a caniption but, follow the speed limit and all will be well.
[I suggest driving down from DC and eventually onto I-64. You can get to the Eastern Shore from Maryland but you can't drive across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel that way.]
Getting off of Route 13 and into a small resort village is the key. To aid you, see Virginia's Rt 13 on Eastern Shore for me a gateway to wonderful memories. Silver Beach comes to mind along with many other for family camping and for the RV crowd.
Search on the Internet for Chincoteague and just on the Eastern Shore generally. Search for B&Bs. No, you won't find the fancy hotels but you will find beach, sand, seafood, friendly folks, and a tranquility not available at larger tourist beaches. [I have no financial interests in any of the resorts or accommodations on the Eastern Shore.]
Virginia is my home; I love Virginia; I hope you will love it too!
