ReplyDeleteYes, I was a bit over the top. We need more information about Obama - his childhood in Indonesia, etc. But it was fun responding to Liberally Conservative.
ReplyDeleteFor a few minutes, I was able to step away from the pain of this week. We will now see a rash of gun-related killings, etc. just because we will and, I believe, partly because in America today, I feel we have no morals or principles - we have no definitive right or wrong - moral equivalency = a few steps away from anarchy. We must be able to make value judgements, as they say, and we seem to have tossed out our compass for living a good life; at the same time, we have lost our gentility and manners.

Do you realize that by saying what you did, you're encouraging a person reading it to fulfill your expectations?
You raise a good point in terms of not giving folks ideas like NBC did in its airing of the killer's pictures and poses.
ReplyDeleteI'm rather sure no one will be listening to me on this issue but many people are mean and crazy these days and seem to have courts and politicians who coddle them.
My guess is that the person reading what I write would be not likely to act on any idea he read here, he's too busy doing other things. Your point is well-taken.
