Wren Cross in Closet - Attack on Christianity
My post will be brief today. I want to share with you a comment that came to me from a gentleman in England, I believe. As you know, I have written several posts about the desecration of the Wren Chapel at The College of William and Mary - a Christian Chapel. A visitor to this site reminded me of the far greater issue that is at stake. I give you his words:
This thing is far more sinister than 'not offending'. There is the heritage aspect - yes and the man has a gall to even think of removing a heritage icon. That said, this man clearly embodies the dualistic moral relativism which permeates the intitutions of higher learning and it's not wishy-washyness in the least - it's a concerted, quiet, cynical attack on Christianity. I'm no Theocon, as the Baron puts it, but this thing with Wren is quite clearly a theological attack. There's no doubt about it. And he's not going to get away with it.You may read more at Nourishing Obscurity. See my two previous posts for more links. Thank you for your help in saving the Wren Cross and restoring it to its moral and spiritual place. As Mr. Higham at Nourishing Obscurity points out, the issue is larger than it first appears to be. It is not local, not regional; it is international in its significance and it is an attack on Christianity. This is how the diluting progresses, first one small bronze cross...then one small brass cross, and then....all done in the "name" of fairness and equality - there are other places at The College of William and Mary where students of other faiths can hold their "services". The point is to destroy anyplace that you may hold sacred, especially a small, unassuming place nearly as old as our heritage in a building designed by Christopher Wren. But then, when will the young women on the campus be asked to remove the small crosses around their necks because the sight of these "may" offend someone... See this attack for what it is and keep up your good work. You are not only saving the Wren Cross. In time, you may be saving much more. This dhimmitude and bowing to the Altar of Secularism must be ended. Go to Save the Wren Chapel Cross. If you can't leave a note because they may be geared for college students and Virginia residents, please send snail mail and/or send an e-mail to info@savethewrencross.org which is found at the site.
