William and Mary Alumni - Save the Wren Cross
I am a graduate of The College of William and Mary. As an alumni, I am calling upon you to withhold any and all financial support to the College of William and Mary until the Wren Cross is returnded to its place of honor in the Wren Chapel. An article in the Washington Times today, College president stands by removal of chapel cross states that, "On Thursay, Mr. Nichol told the school's Board of Visitors that displaying the cross in the historic building excluded students of other religions." What a crock of PC servitude! The removal of the Wren Cross, at the whim, excuse me - tyrannical power - of the President, Gene Nichol, is purely and simply a form of dhimmitude to the Altar of Multiculturalism. The removal of the Wren Cross because it might "offend" someone is pure insult to our College and the heritage of this great nation. The Wren Chapel is a chapel, a church. Would you expect Buddhists to remove a statue of the Buddha because it "might" offend someone? Of course not. One of any belief can find solice and spiritual comfort in the Wren Chapel; just as a Christian can find comfort in a Shinto Temple in Japan. The Wren Cross, an offense - hardly; it's arbitrary removal is the offense. Does the Wren Cross shout out "convert all ye who enter here?" No, it is a mark of quiet; it is a gift; it is in a chapel. The Wren Cross is not a symbol of offense; it is a simple, unadorned cross symbolizing unity, love, faith, and solemnity. If the students at The College of William and Mary are that "sensitive" and so easily "offended" in a house of worship, then the College has surely slipped far from its high standards of yesterday. Such a pity; so embarrassing. President Nichol's act is a shameful display of what is wrong in a nation chained under the scourge of censorship; in a nation begging for the cloak of dhimmitude. Perhaps the alumni should work to have Mr. Nichol removed. See Cross removed from 307 year old chapel See also Save the Wren Chapel Cross for information on how to write the President of The College of William and Mary. Also, how to contact the students. And I'm sure you could find out how to contact the Board of Visitors. See Save the Wren Chapel - a must read for the historical background of the Wren Chapel. This is one we need to fight - it is dhimmitude, the subjugation of your heritage and if the Wren Chapel can essentially be "desecrated" by the removal of the Wren Cross, then what's to stop this happening all over the nation?

I think Nichol may be a reed bending in the wind. He's too new to have started this one on his own.
But I'll check with my student sources and see what they think...
Thanks. Never hurrts to ask the question.
Interesting post. This is a bit of PC gone too far. I've linked to it at my site.
That is so insane. The take-back is gonna be long and hard-fought. But we will take back our culture, one battle at a time.
If you have time, go over to visit Strange Fire and read the linked post:
Bush is a Pod Person
It will be worth your time to read several of the posts that are more recent than "Bush is a Pod Person". Russet Shadows, commonly referred to as RS or Russet is right on target regarding some of the issues we discuss. I try to read his blog frequently.
Yes, it will be one, long, hard battle but I think the internet is a major battle front. I'm working with the 910 Group and as I learn better how to integrate their info here, I'll be doing that. I have linked three 910 blogs at the top of my Blogs I read list. I'm behind on getting that list up to date.
A great Opinion Editorial by a Christian Leader on campus appeared in the Richmond Times.
