Beach Girl,
ReplyDeleteThe Federer-Djokovic match was, indeed, a great game, and Federer is surely one of the all-time greatest tennis players. However, in my opinion, Federer is not sole owner of the U.S. Open. The undersized and explosive Justine Henin was just as compelling in her U.S. Open win as was Federer. This was Henin's second U.S. Open win, and this year she had to beat both Serena and Venus Williams just to get to the finals. I salute Federer and Henin, as co-owners of the U. S. Open. Allez, racketeers!
Hi Beach,
ReplyDeleteJust to ask if you have any info on the following: I had a hitch in my feed the other day, which may be the reason I dropped off the bloggregator. I asked Dumb Ox to put me back on. Since I had no reply , and I also saw no posts of his on the gator, I guesed that perhaps he was on vacation. But on the feedrader all is working fine. Also I see no posts of yours on the gator. Do you have any info what's going on?
Cheers!
Must say I'm surprised.
ReplyDeleteWhat is Roger's Secret Weapon?
ReplyDeleteOf course, Roger Federer is a gifted athlete, but could he have a secret weapon that gives him an edge on the tennis court? You might be surprised to know that Roger Federer makes use of gadget called a BEMER. This is a portable pulsed magnetic field device which speeds healing of muscle and tendons after tough tennis matches. According to the BEMER web site, Roger and many other athletes have been using portable pulsed magnetic therapy units regularly.

You still out there?
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen you post in a long while. Hope all is fine.
ReplyDeleteFalcon, Douglas - still here just took a month off. Needed to do some counted cross-stitch, a wonderfully mind-numbing, yet creative activity. And a real fun time when you miss count - ugh!
ReplyDeleteBoBill - yes, Henin did a masterful job. I just so much enjoyed watching the US Open - such a great change from politics and so great to watch those grand athletes do their thing. On Federer, I really think the only way to "beat" him is for players to learn how they would beat themselves. He seems to let them bring the game to him and seems to play the game he is given.
To "Anonymous" - I seldom publish comments from "Anonymous", and simply delete the ones lecturing to me. I've "enjoyed" enough lectures throughout my academic life. You, Anonymous, can take me to task here with your comments and tell me how I'm "going to Hell" for sure but you won't get any "air-time" here. Pah-lese, don't waste your time. Generally, I see "anonymous" and delete the comment; sometimes I read them but very seldom publish them.
