The Shameful Face of Islam
The picture on the front page of the Washington Times today (January 13, 2007) says all any one in the Western world needs to see and know about Islamic Law, Sharia Law and the place of women within Islamic nations. The picture on the Front page image for January 13, 2007 shows a young woman veiled in white, kneeling on a platform. Several women, I think, are behind her on the platform - or maybe they are the "religious police". A man stands poised to deliver the blows to her back - caning. The platform is surrounded by men looking on to see the blood as it will seep through her white garment. I cannot help but think that they are getting a vicarious pleasure from seeing her suffer for her "sin" - not mentioned. What "brave" men these are in the picture to allow a woman to be treated so cruelly, her beating on public display, her garments soon to be red with her blood. Shame on these vile creatures. Is this the face you want to see in Western nations? Women beaten in the public square for the pleasure of the "impotent" men who are waiting to watch her misery. As an aside, a friend of mine told me today, that not long ago her church group had scheculed the pavilion at the beach where she lives for some activity or other. Three women were in the park, dressed to the nines in fancy burkas. My friend handed one of the women a tract on Christianity. The burka-clad woman smirked at my friend, and said, as if to spit on my friend, "We believe in the one true god. You believe in three." These words were delivered to my friend in disgust and with disdain. Have we come so far in the United States to allow ourselves to be taken so far back from our journey toward true equality by Islam? By Sharia Law? By the clear prejudice bred into every Muslim from early-childhood? Can you tell me that is not the case? Can you tell me that we need not be concerned? Can you tell me that Islam is compatible with our form of government? Can you tell me you would wish this young woman's fate upon your daughters?

You'll see many western feminists are silent on this, they prefer to concentrate on defending their ovaries, their right to choose and equal pay.
And i don't understand how the multi-culturalists plan to address these flavours of Islamic extremism, already in places like the UK, public pools are set aside for muslim women only for religious reasons, how exactly do they plan on resisting a push for islamic laws to be passed for certain citizens.
Already muslims in the UK would like to have sharia law for themselves.
It's a funny thing. They leave the Middle East, enjoy the fruits of the Western nations and the freedom, and then bring the things they left behind with them - namely their religion which is their "nation".
In all candor, perhaps Muslims should follow the instructions in the Qur'an and leave Western nations before Western nations really become "hostile" to them - a condition they will have brought upon themselves.
Or maybe, they just follow the Koran selectively - eh?
Oh, BTW, could it be that Muslim men in Islamist run countries are so sexually repressed that they take out their sexual repression on defenseless women whom they cannot rape but they can beat? In public?
I don't think it will happen here. I believe we won't let it. I hope...
That is one reason I am working with the 910 Group. To work so that CAIR doesn't get a foot-hold here, any more than they have right now. The goal they have is world domination by Islam - don't forget that for a moment.
Thanks for visiting.
To be realistic, I think that what Western feminists as well as Congressman Keith Ellison will do is use the five most dangerous words in the liberal language, “Maybe it will go away”. This is their ESTABLISHED behavior when things they represent or fight for show their true colors. Now I’m not saying that feminists or the congressman stand up for this but, by their own lack of voice, they seem to be condoning it.
In your own observation, “Oh, BTW, could it be that Muslim men in Islamist run countries are so sexually repressed that they take out their sexual repression on defenseless women whom they cannot rape but they can beat? In public?
This is not about sexual repression; they have homosexuality and bestiality for that; unfortunately, I have seen both in person. This is about the “Little Penis” mentality of “Saving Face” at all costs that Islam preaches. Case in point, early in out tour, we were in a village in sector and came across the corpse of a young woman that had been stoned and beaten to death and was left naked in the town square. Obviously we’re going to ask what happened. We talked to the IP (Iraqi Police) that are stationed there and apparently, they were blind and deaf from the hours of 11AM to 1PM such as is their nature. After having one “take a walk” with me and a few of the Joes; we didn’t touch him, just mind games, he told us everything.
The girl, we guessed her age at about 15-16, was raped by two men in the village. Her family, led by her father in order to save face in front of the rest of the villagers, beat and stoned her until she was dead. Her crime, being a temptation to the men in the village which meant, according to Islam and its teachings, that she was a whore. How do you deal with whores? Beat and stone them to death. The men were complimented by the imam for trying to fight temptation and revealing HER crime to the village.
Now this is not the case in every village and with every Muslim, we know that. In the Kurdish sector, those men would have begged for us to take custody of them as opposed to let the villagers deal with it. I don’t know for sure the outcome of leaving them with the villagers but I can tell you that it would not have faired well for the rapists.
What did we do then? We made the IP dig a grave (we’re jerks that way), we clothed the girl in a blanket we bought with out money, and gave her a burial in the proper customs that true Islam teaches. How, our interpreter led us through it. We also issued a “friendly” reminder to all of the villagers that if the grave was desecrated in any way, we would label the ENTIRE village as hostile, and cut off any aid they are receiving. This is what our interpreter “Al” said was the proper thing to do and it will send this message to the villagers, “We are merciful when the time calls for it, but we will not hesitate to kill for the same”.
This is when US lawyers and politicians would take us to court for interfering with their religious freedom, freedom of expression, and a whole slew of charges that would make your head spin. What a country!
There are good people in the Muslim world that I would gladly have as a comrade in arms, neighbor or family. But it is overshadowed by these ignorant few that feed the media headlines for their “plight”. If you want to get a true picture of Islam on an individual and group basis, I will refer you to the quote by John Fletcher, “Deeds, not words shall speak me”.
Thank you - on behalf of that young woman. Thank you. And thank you for what you do; give my thanks to your men.
Good post, and good comments!
It's Muslims that make Islam look bad: Some for their actions, and many for their inactions. When good people do nothing, that is evil enough.
Coconut Commando: Thank you for that story, and thanks to you and your buds for your service not just to America but to humanity! God bless you all!
Beach Girl: Your aside about the Holy Trinity prompted me to post about it: A Christian-Muslim Debate from the Middle Ages.
