2008 - Throw all the self-serving bastards out
In the Washington Times, I read the article, Congress open to passing bill on immigration.
I just wrote a long post that clearly wasn't supposed to be posted because it all disappeared. So, let me be brief. In 2008, we must throw every elected representative or senator who votes for the citizenship to illegals/the amnesty bill out of office.
We should call for the immediate impeachment of any president who signs such a bill into law and any president who actively works to bring this nation to its knees and to make it a region within the triangle of the Mexican-American-Canadian axis.
Having said that, and having had my more direct statements disappear into the internet ethers, I'll just leave you with that thought. Our nation and its legal citizens do not deserve what is in store for us in terms of balkanization.
We have legal methods and procedures for legal immigration. Our government is ignoring these laws and therefore, our government is in anarchy, bent to destroy the cohesion of our nation.
As Oriana Fallaci said so eloquently, "I spit on them." She was talking of the cowards who flew into the World Trade Centers. For me,"I spit on the politicians who have set their course to destroy this nation. I spit on them and I curse them and their families for generations to come."
I could be wrong on what I see as our future - the denigration of women once more, the enrodes of the Islamists - the grounds having been softened by our elected officials.
Regardless of political party, each and every elected representative and senator who votes for this bill should be thrown out of office. The damage will have been done to our nation but they should have to pay the price for simply wanting to make their maids and gardeners "legal".

ReplyDeleteIn principle I agree with you. For that matter, I think that everyone currently in office, with the exception of Senator Ron Paul, should be kicked out of office, and candidates not affiliated with either major political party elected to replace them. Obviously an impossibility given our current state of affairs.
With all of that being said. I am not sure that balkanization is necessarily a bad thing. It appears to be impossible to have a country, with the priciples espoused by our founders which encompasses the land mass that the US does. I think, and hope, that it would be possible to keep true to those principles in a smaller geographical area. OTOH, the road there is NOT one I wish to tread.

Powder - always dry. Got a bit testy this morning but enough is enough. We live in "balkanized" areas now - some places angels wouldn't even go. Sad but true.

ReplyDeleteI don't want to impeach my president, President Bush, for several reasons, one of which is that he never mislead us, he never said he would stop the illegals. We, or at least, I believed that he would.
ReplyDeleteThe sorrow is that the president will work with the Dhimmicrats - he is not facing re-election. The Dhimmicrats will continue to work to secularize this nation, they will try to pass "hate speech" laws to end blogs such as mine and shred any semblance we have of freedom of speech.
Of course, Bush could give the Dhimmicrats what they want in terms of laws - we did get that bastion of free speech - the McCain Campaign Finance Reform - and therefore bring the Dhimmicrats down. :) The Dhimmicrats will not waste time in impeachment when they'll get what they want just like the terrorists won't waste explosives here when with the Dhimmicrats and CAIR, they'll get what they want.
And now, the big brouhaha over the Muslim and what book he'll use to take his oath on is moot because he, by virture of the Koran, will lie anyway to defeat the infidels.
I want to work so that every elected official that votes for this anmesty is voted out in 2008. We won't be able to get rid of all of the Senators because of their 6 year terms, etc. but we can remind folks in 2010 who voted for the amnesty.
Well, I've touched on a few subjects but last at least I will save time from watching TV news for the next 2 to 10 years.
Careful, you might turn into our own little Joan of Arc, though hopefully with a happier ending and without the voices...

It is lucky that the Mexican people themselves are really excellent. (On the other hand, perhaps this is one of the reasons why the border has not been properly secured to this date?)
ReplyDeleteThe main strength of the American system is that, unlike in Europe, people who come to live in the US (whether legally or illegally) must work to survive. No gangs of "youths" who have more energy to blow off than can be expended by picking up a welfare cheque every other week. Europe is slowly realizing that the "evil American system" is perhaps not such a bad idea after all (whether they do anything about it in time is another question).
For this reason I am perhaps a little less pessimistic, but you do need to get that border secured. It is no longer just friendly, hard-working Mexicans coming through these days.
Brett, there are MANY getting SSI and welfare plus free medical you could only dream of. No, not all are here "working hard" - many yes. Then of course you know of MS-13 the Salvadoran gang that beheads folks in Northern Virginia and is about 30,000 strong across the US - they have teamed up with some nasty Mexican drug gangs.

Our nation has no border now with the in effect non-Senate approved deal the SPP with Mexico, US, and Canada. We've lost the ability to manufacture many things and we've been sold out.
How many churches are being built in Saudi? Seemingly a change of subject - no, it is all part and parcel of weakening America - and it is working. Can't be Joan of Arc - don't speak French, Spanish, or any other language except English.
What would be the basis of such an impeachment? I personally would oppose such a bill but it is the job of congress and the President to set immigration policy. President Reagan (mistakingly) signed an amnesty bill in the 1980s. You can argue that was stupid but not law breaking.
ReplyDeleteIt is against the intentions of the framers of the constitution to impeach them for something that is merely setting a national policy that they were intended to set. What "high crime and misdemeanor" is that?
Thanks, Jimservo, the "hig crime and misdemeanor" would be ticking me off and violating their oath of office to protect the nation from invasion among other things. Yes, they can set immigration policy but right now they are not enforcing immigration policy and they are allowing us to be invaded.

I understand you are upset but that is not a legal argument. The constitution intentionally sets high standards for impeachment and removal and those standards are not just for disagreement with policy. Allowing illegal actions to take place (the fact that illegal aliens are present the United States) is not a criminal act any more then any other law that is not enforced. Refugees, and aliens have crossed into the United States since the founding of the Republic and the country has had many different sets of policies regarding regarding them and enforced those laws to various degrees. The decision of enforcement is itself a political decision. There are many laws on the books on the federal and state level that are not actively persued.
ReplyDeleteFinally, I believe that the worry about Latino integration is somewhat overestimated. Latinos are showing many of the same issues that first-generation Italians showed when integrating, but second and third generation Latinos show substantial improvements. That is not to say the current social liberalism does not present problems, or that an open border policy is correct but that the rhetoric presented by those such as Representative Tancredo and Michelle Malkin is perhaps somewhat misleading at best. I probably won't be coming to agreement with you on this.

I have done a lot of research on the "integration" into the society in this case and I am an educator. I don't think we do the illegal immigrants' children any service by any thing short of total immersion into the language (English) for their greater mobility.
As stated, your comments are welcomed. Given my knowledge of "criminal law", I think there is reason to believe that witnessing or encouraging criminal activity and not taking measures to stop it is illegal or the justice system could make a case that it is - especially if /when we are attacked here again.
