I'd scream: "Illustrious Mr. Arafat, the martyrs are the passengers of the four airplanes that were hijacked and transformed into human bombs. Among them is a four year old little girl who disintegrated in the second tower. Illustrious Mr. Arafat, the martyrs are the employees who worked in the two towers and the Pentagon. Illustrious Mr. Arafat, the martyrs are the firemen who died trying to save them. And do you know who the heroes are? the passengers of the flight that was supposed to throw itself into the White House but instead crashed into the woods in Pennsylvania because they fought back!..."One cannot do Oriana Fallaci justice in a paragraph or a book. It is her words and the passion in them that stirs men's Souls. It is her recognition of the enemy within the gates; it is her love of her treasured Italy; and yes, it is her love of we Americans as well and the mystic of the ideals upon which our nation was built. Read her work; feel her passion stir your heart; watch her stand on the side of the guardians of truth. And when you read her work, if you are very attentive, you can feel her breath upon your cheek and the warmth of her spirit as it beckons you to rise up. In this thing of Heaven and Hell, I have no doubt that Oriana Fallaci stands ready today at the side of the Archangel Michael, dressed in battle gear, breastplate gleaming, hair streaming, burnished sword flashing fire and light. One's belief or disbelief in God in no way alters His existence. I have to believe God knows warriors when He sees them. And He uses them to His purpose. And I can only imagine this defiant, brilliant, no-holds-barred woman sounding the battle cry, "Submit, Hell!" I have to believe that she gave up this mortal shell in peace. And to her many friends, remember well her last herculean act was to come home, to come home to you, to come home to Italy.....
Conservative Beach Girl is speech protected in accordance with the Constitution of the United States of America. "The Constitution is not a suicide pact" - Justice Robert H. Jackson, 1949. Our representative republic based on our U.S. Constitution has many wolves slashing at our heels and hearts. Enemies within and enemies without; we must take them at their word, even as they dissemble at every turn to advance their cause to destroy our way of life and end our freedoms.

From Crusader Rabbit, this is not a platform for leftist tripe.
A sad day indead...
ReplyDeleteThank you for this words, for this tribute.
ReplyDeleteThe comments in my Oriana's post are closed. That's why in Italy it's possible that very bad people could find funny to write bad comments against Oriana.
We are not all "open-minded". Comunist are still here, hoping to win where they lost.
You know Oriana was under process for the book she wrote?
In Italy!
So I close my comment. Because today I do not wanna fight. i only want to remember Oriana.
The post accept trackback so I trackbacckedthis for you.
Sorry for my hugly English... hopeyou've undertood.
Bye!
No fighting today, Robinik. Today is a day of rest to honor your Oriana and she made us hers as well. Rest today, my friend. She would have it so. Sometimes the heart is heavy for we cannot see and that is just as well.
ReplyDelete-- I have to believe God knows warriors when He sees them. And He uses them to His purpose. --
ReplyDeleteMega-ditto. God wastes not.
Francis, yes, God wastes not. I read your story. It is so true and we in our human form and with our human mind cannot see, nor should we see God's design. Like Robinik, I believe I'll rest now.
ReplyDeleteI'll never forget her interview with the Ayatollah Khomeini, when she ripped off the chador she had been forced to wear to be admitted to his presence and called it a "stupid medieval rag."
ReplyDeleteGutsy.
Compare that to Mike Wallace, who fawned all over Ahmadinejad.
Men such as Mike Wallace and those women of his breed, not recognizing fraud when they shake hands with it, embarrass us all. We can only thank God for women such as Oriana Fallaci and hope at this late date to pick up the pen she has left for us. At the very least, to be inspired by her words and her deeds to "spit" into the face of cowards who perpetrate such dispicable outrages against mankind.
ReplyDeleteI loved that woman so.
ReplyDeleteYes, I am sure no one could say, "I spit on you" with more clarity and sincerity than she. What a woman! When I read her work, she makes me want to sit here and let it all out.
ReplyDeleteSeptember 15, 2006! RIP
